Description

Follow the collection for new rack modules and updates

This is a 3U rack module for 4× 3.5" drives and 6x 2.5" drives, designed specifically for short-depth HP-style caddies, solving a common issue with existing designs that require extra depth to fit standard trays.

Most available solutions need additional clearance behind the drives, making them unsuitable for compact racks or shallow enclosures.

This version is optimized to fit shorter caddies while maximizing storage density in a compact 10-inch rack.

Additionally, I have designed compatible 3D printable caddies, allowing you to build a complete storage system even if you don't have original HP Gen8/Gen9 caddies.

Assembly

To be ablke to achieve hotswap, you are going to need these adapters Link here

I recommend using the sas to sata adapters as they can fit sas disks as well as sata disks without any downside and are not much more expensive.

To mount all drives you will need:

  • 6 HP Gen8/Gen9 compatible 2.5" drive caddies (original or my printable version)
  • 4 HP Gen8/Gen9 compatible 3.5" drive caddies (original or my printable version)
  • 10 SATA/SAS adapters
  • 20 M3×8 mm screws (or similar) for mounting the adapters

The drives simply slide into the module, providing a clean, compact and modular storage solution for your homelab.
