Description

Introducing Magnetic Hook (Build Plate Mount) for UniFormation GK3 printers.

I own GK3 Ultra from the beginning and very quickly noticed that you can close the lid when build plate is hooked vertically. This is the reason why this hook(s) came to this world.

There are two version you can choose from. Both versions does the same thing and are designed differently only for a different look. I would call version 2 a slim one.

Magnets Size

  • Version 1: 10mm x 2.5mm (socket depth: 2.85mm, diameter: 10.1mm)
  • Version 2: 7mm x 2.5mm (socket depth: 2.75mm, diameter: 7.1mm)

Print Suggestions

Print with PETG or PLA - there are no much forces.

PINs shoulb be printed horizontally not vertically for strength. You can replace them with the screws but it is not necessary - I use this hook(s) daily for over a year now and no issues.

'Strong' print profiles recommended (4-6 walls and Gyroid or 3D Honeycomb infill).

Important note: PINs sits very tight at first and you should use hammer (gently please) to hammer them in. This is normal and designed this way. After inserting the pins just move the parts several times to settle them in (you will feel them starting to work smoothly).

If it doesn't work for you you and you want them to insert freely - use small drills to loosen the holes for the pins. But like I said it is designed to use force to insert them. Version 1 drill diameter: 3mm. Version 2 drill diameter: 4mm.

The original idea came from my friend Mitko Dyakov and quickly we managed to put ideas to the shape. Since then I'm using this hooks without any issues on my GK3 Ultra. Check out Mitko's awesome projects.

Have fun printing!
