Description

A modular cyberpunk / sci-fi gauntlet armor kit designed to turn a simple glove into a futuristic wearable cosplay prop.

The model includes separate armor plates for the fingers, thumb, knuckles, back of the hand and wrist area. The pieces are printed separately and then glued onto a real glove. I used a fleece glove, but the parts can be attached to many types of fabric gloves depending on surface, flexibility and glue compatibility.

I also included a raw full-glove reference file with all parts placed together, so you can see where each element is intended to go before assembly. This file is mainly for placement reference; for printing, use the separated armor parts / print profile.

Sizing / Scaling

This gauntlet was designed for my hand size: 20 cm from the wrist crease to the tip of the middle finger.

To resize it for your hand, measure the same distance on your own hand and use this formula:

Scale (%) = Your hand length / 20 cm × 100

 

Examples:

18 cm hand → 18 / 20 × 100 = 90%

19 cm hand → 19 / 20 × 100 = 95%

21 cm hand → 21 / 20 × 100 = 105%

22 cm hand → 22 / 20 × 100 = 110%

 

Apply the same scale to all armor parts so the proportions stay consistent.

Hand width, finger thickness and glove stretch can vary, so I recommend printing one or two finger plates first and testing the placement before printing the full set.

Assembly

  1. Print the separate armor plates.
  2. Place the parts on the glove and check the full layout before gluing.
  3. Start with the larger hand and wrist pieces, then continue with the fingers and thumb.
  4. Glue the parts onto the glove one by one.

I used hot glue for assembly. Be careful: hot glue can pass through thin fabric and burn your hand. I recommend wearing a second glove underneath the glove you are working on while positioning and pressing the parts.

Test each part placement before gluing permanently.

Printing Notes

The included print profile has support settings tuned for easy removal. The model does use supports, but in my test print they came off cleanly and without much effort.

 

Approximate material use from my print:

Total material: around 120 g

Supports: around 40 g

 

The model was created as a wearable prop, so the armor plates are separated to make assembly easier and to allow the glove to remain flexible.

Disclaimer

This is a cosplay / costume / decorative prop, not protective equipment. It is not intended for impact protection, work safety, sports protection, self-defense or real combat use.

 

The print profile was created and tested on a well-calibrated printer with a clean build plate and properly tuned filament settings. Results may vary depending on printer calibration, bed adhesion, filament condition, support settings and general machine setup. I cannot guarantee identical results on uncalibrated printers, dirty build plates, wet filament or poorly tuned extrusion/adhesion.
