Description
A clean, minimalist, and functional razor holder designed with smooth, rounded top corners for a sleek look.
Designed with a dual-purpose mounting hole, it can be attached to smooth surfaces using a suction cup or easily hung from a hook or shower caddy wire. The default mounting hole is set to 12mm, but the model can easily be edited or customized if you need a different size for your specific suction cup or hook.
⚠️ Note: The mounting hole is cut using a Bambu Studio Negative Part, so while the 3D plate preview might look solid, it will slice and print with the hole fully open.
🖨️ Print Layout & Materials
- Plate 1 (PETG) — Recommended for Showers: Highly recommended if you plan to hang this inside a hot, steamy shower environment to ensure longer-term durability and prevent warping.
- Plate 2 (PLA) — Recommended for Dry Use: Suitable for mirrors, medicine cabinets, or vanity walls. (Note: Constant exposure to hot shower steam over time can cause PLA to slowly sag or warp.)
⚠️ Important Cooling Reminder: PETG requires a bit of patience! While the plastic is still warm, the layer bonds have not reached their full structural strength. Let the print cool completely to room temperature before removing it from the plate. Removing it too early can cause the layers to separate (we were reminded of this during a test print when we pulled it off a bit too fast and split a few warm layers!)
🧠 Lessons Learned (Our motto: Design, Try, Learn, Repeat)
We wanted to share a few things we learned on this project:
- Adaptive Layer Heights for Smooth Curves: We used the Adaptive layer height tool (clicked once) followed by the Smooth button (clicked once with a radius of 5). This gave us the "best of both worlds"—it keeps the printing fast on the straight vertical walls, but seamlessly blends the layer heights as it reaches the top rounded corners.
- Patience is a Design Metric: We re-learned that material physics doesn't care how excited you are to see the final print! See our cooling reminder above on why letting PETG fully cool down is absolutely critical for the model's structural strength.
