Description
Fence insulator for wildlife fence / knotted mesh
A robust, self-developed fence insulator for easy mounting on metal posts of wildlife fences or knotted mesh. The insulator is ideal for retrofitting an electric fence without making the existing fence electrically conductive.
Fastening is done with an M6 screw and nut. Due to its stable construction, the insulator sits securely on the fence post and reliably keeps the electric wire at a distance.
Required Accessories
- 1 × M6×20 hex screw
- 1 × M6 nut
- Optional: 1 × M6 washer (depending on post profile)
Print Parameters
- Material: PETG or ABS (recommended)
- Infill: at least 20 %
- Wall lines: 3
- Support structure: enabled
Material Recommendation
Since the insulator will be permanently used outdoors, it should be printed from PETG or ABS. These materials are significantly more resistant to UV radiation and weathering.
PLA is not recommended, as it will not withstand outdoor stresses in the long term and can become brittle.
Notes
- For a long service life, the use of high-quality, UV-resistant filaments is recommended.
- Before commissioning, it should be checked that the conductor wire does not touch the metal post and that the insulator is firmly screwed in.
