Beiyang Fleet Pingyuan Battleship 3D Printed Model Introduction

This is the fourth model in the Beiyang Fleet ship series, the Pingyuan Battleship, with an overall uniform scale of 1:125. The finished model is approximately 50cm long. The entire model features a fully modular and multi-color design, with every effort made to restore historical details of the ship based on historical data during production. Due to limitations in data and modeling conditions, some details could not be perfectly replicated. We ask for your understanding, fellow modelers. Commercial use is strictly prohibited without authorization, and infringement will be prosecuted. Please read this section of the instructions completely before printing. Commercial use is strictly prohibited without authorization, and infringement will be prosecuted

Print Settings Specifications

The complete set of parameters is adapted for Bambu Lab PLA Basic filament. It is recommended to use the device's default print profile: 0.12mm layer height, enable A walls, minimum wall line width 70%, minimum feature size 10%. Commercial use is strictly prohibited without authorization, and infringement will be prosecuted. The matching filament color scheme includes: Warm Yellow, Cocoa Brown, Jade White, Gray, Black, Red

Assembly Process

1. Prioritize assembling the black waterline hull, which uses a dovetail joint structure. The parts fit together tightly, and no additional glue is required for assembly

2. Next, lay the Cocoa Brown deck, then assemble the Jade White hull superstructure components

3. For the assembly of other small parts and auxiliary components, please refer to the accompanying product display images

Important Printing Notice

The ship's mast parts are long, thin, and fragile, so it is strongly recommended to print them separately on multiple plates in batches. Batch printing on the same plate is highly prone to spaghetti-like layer artifacts. The original model file does not include a brim, mainly to avoid damaging the fitting surfaces of the joined parts. If spaghetti issues occur during printing, you can add a brim yourself for optimization. All parts of the entire model have been test-printed by me piece by piece, and later integrated and compiled into a collection of modular parts. There might be a few omissions in the files. If you have any issues, please leave a comment or send a private message, and I will adjust, modify, and update them for free

Model Creation Notes

The model was created using Fusion360 software, referencing various historical old photographs and ship exterior textures to build the model. My personal modeling skills are limited, so extreme precision cannot be achieved. Hard-core modelers, please be merciful and refrain from harsh criticism if you dislike it. The model is completely free and open source. Modeling, test printing, and disassembling/organizing from start to finish all required a significant amount of time and effort, and production was not easy. I humbly ask for your assistance and support. Commercial use is strictly prohibited without authorization, and infringement will be prosecuted

This time, optimizations and upgrades were made based on feedback from previous modelers, with a focus on improving the ship's railing structure. This significantly reduces the difficulty of gluing and installation and improves adaptability. The optimized railing structure is universally compatible with the entire Beiyang Fleet series of ships and can be directly applied to the other three ship models in the same series. Some small parts of the model have been designed with extra spares, not just enough for a single assembly set, to increase installation fault tolerance. Commercial use is strictly prohibited without authorization, and infringement will be prosecuted

Limited by my personal modeling skills and the incomplete historical reference materials available, the model inevitably has issues such as missing details and insufficient restoration, making it impossible to achieve a 100% accurate replica. We hope all modelers will be understanding, and welcome any suggestions for restoration or improvement and discussion
