Description
Slyde is a compact, kinetic fidget built around two oval loops connected by a floating pivot that slides freely back and forth. The pivot features a tuned post system that snaps satisfyingly into place, locking the loops together with a crisp, tactile click. Once assembled, the pivot glides smoothly along the inner track, giving Slyde a rhythmic, controlled motion that feels distinct from rotation‑based designs.
The geometry is reinforced for durability while keeping the footprint lightweight and pocket‑friendly. It prints in under 1 hour using Basic PLA on any machine, and the tolerances are dialed for a clean break‑free separation right off the plate. After a few flexes, the sliding action settles into a low‑friction glide that feels intentional, balanced, and endlessly fidgetable.
Assembly requires a firm press against a flat surface with all three pieces aligned to ensure proper fit and function, and with that one snap the slide looping begins

Slyde is fully modular—extra loops can be added to extend the motion path, create multi‑segment sliders, or build color‑coordinated stacks. Extra Links profiles available. The clean geometry makes it ideal for multi‑color experimentation.
I designed Slyde to introduce a new motion profile to your modular ecosystem: a linear glide instead of a spin. It complements pivot‑based designs while offering a fresh tactile feel and a satisfying snap‑lock assembly.
