Description
Welcome!
Please note these are Blender renders—I don't own a 3D printer to test-print. The CAD tolerances are precise, but I would highly appreciate your feedback. If you print this, please share a "Make"!
PHYSICALLY BALANCED DECISION COIN (YES / NO) A pocket-sized decision flip coin designed with physical fairness in mind. Never struggle with 50/50 choices again—whether you need to make a quick decision or resolve a board game dispute, this coin has you covered.
THE DESIGN & PHYSICS (How it's fair)
Most custom coins with different text on each side suffer from uneven weight distribution, making them biased. This model solves that:
- Heavy Outer Rim: 70–80% of the coin's mass is concentrated in the thick, perfectly symmetrical outer ring.
- Recessed Center: The text "YES" and "NO" is placed inside a recessed middle section, making any volume differences between the letters mathematically and physically negligible.
KEY FEATURES & SPECIFICATIONS
- Diameter: 40 mm
- Thickness: 3.5 mm
- Recessed Wall: 2 mm center thickness with 0.4 mm extruded text.
PRINTING RECOMMENDATIONS
- Orientation: Lay flat on the print bed.
- Layer Height: 0.10 mm to 0.15 mm (highly recommended for crisp text and clean edge bevels).
- Infill: 100% Infill (Crucial to keep the internal density perfectly uniform and preserve the coin's fair balance).
- Supports: Minimal supports are recommended under the recessed bottom side, or print the coin vertically with a brim if your retraction and cooling are top-notch.
- Color Change Tip: You can easily program a filament change in your slicer at the top layers to make the "YES" and "NO" lettering pop in a different color!
