Vixen Dovetail 120, 150, 210mm

Vixen Dovetail that is both strong and gives you room for adaptivity!

I was not found of other designs I found online and made this for my personal use. Regular dovetails are made from steel or aluminium and plastics have a tendency to flex a bit to much, add the natural weakness of 3d printed layers and you know that these parts need to be well made to hold under pressure.

This design uses modifiers and a thoughtful placement of fastening holes. This adds strength and minimize flexure. I have tested the 210mm version under a point pressure of 15 kg and it flexed minimal (ABS).

I recommend to use ABS/ASA or PETG-CF/GF for longevity and stiffness, I use regular ABS and the flexure and stiffness is within what I find resonable.

Settings (if the 3mf file does not work):

8 walls

15% infill (add modifiers as shown in the picture, 100% infill, 8 walls)

5 top layers

5 bottom layers

(the 3mf file is for a Qidi Q2, but should work fine with a Bambu printer as well, be sure to check your settings befor printing)
