Description
Summary
A replica of Kiritsugu's Thompson Contender as seen in Fate/Zero
Features:
- Dummy .30-06 round with separate projectile if you want to multi color print
- Realistic break action, trigger guard acts as release
- Fore-grip and hand grip slide on with dovetail for ease of maintenance
Non printed parts needed:
- 2 M3x25 bolts, remove heads with hacksaw
- 2 small rubber bands for trigger mechanism
- superglue
- segment of 1.75 filiment to use as pivot for the front sight
Print recommendations:
- There are mechanical parts in this build, recommend 4+ walls for them (Receiver, pivot pin, hammer, trigger, trigger guard, barrel support, barrel lock)
- due to the complex shapes in the trigger guard supports are absolutely needed
- Orca did fine with auto placing the parts for print orientation, however if you are printing the trigger pins instead of using M3 bolts you will want them to print flat for layer line strength
Assembly notes:
- getting the rubber bands in and locked into the pegs is a pain. Install the hammer with rubber band FIRST then install the trigger plus trigger guard
- You will need to rotate the trigger to get it into the trigger guard, its a tight fit
- Do not be shy about glue use where the barrel meets the barrel support, this part will see a lot of stress if you flip the action open and closed
Add a drop of glue to one side of the filiment pivot in the rear sight to keep it in place, or add more glue to both sides to keep the rear sight from flipping around
