Description

This is Ver 2.0, an updated version of the 2-Hatch Missile Pod Battery Case, which has been well received across various 3D printing sharing sites.

Designed as a functional battery holder, battery storage box, and battery case, it keeps your AA batteries and AAA batteries neatly organized while adding an industrial missile pod look to your workspace. Two versions are included: one for AA batteries and one for AAA batteries.

✨ Main Features: 

  • 3mf profiles are pre-configured, making support removal much easier.
    (While Ver 1.0 could be easily printed without support settings, removing the supports was a hassle.)
  • Smoother operation achieved by optimizing the slide knob layout.
  • The slide knob is now snap-fit for easy assembly, and 3 types of knobs allow for fine-tuning of the opening and closing mechanism.
  • With recent improvements in 3D printer accuracy, cowl parts tended to come off too easily, so the fit of the parts has been improved.
     

     

🖨️ Printing Notes:

  • Using the pre-configured 3mf profile (for Bambu Studio) is recommended.
  • Plate 4 is a combination of Plate 1 and Plate 2.

     

  • If you are using STL files, please refer to the "Print settings reference" at the very bottom.
    (Support settings are only required for the STL model files "aa_pod_2hatch_x4_outer" and "aaa_pod_2hatch_x4_outer".)
     
  • Please enjoy pairing the 3MF and STL files for "others-aaa-x4-plastic model robot bracket" with your figures or plastic model robots.
    (If the Battery Case is loose, please adjust it by applying felt or tape.)
     
  • For 18650 batteries (print compatibility unverified):
    Scaling the AA size by 1.286x when printing will match the size of a 18650 battery.
    When scaled by 1.286x, the battery length on the 3D data is a maximum of 65.5mm.


     

📝 Assembly & Usage:

  • Please assemble by referencing the videos.
  • Depending on printer and filament conditions, the hatch may be stiff to open and close after printing.
    Please be careful when opening and closing the hatch for the first time.
    Before assembly, move the hatch part back and forth repeatedly to ensure smooth operation.
    If there is friction in the interlocking areas during test assembly, smoothing out the layer steps slightly with sandpaper or similar tools will help.
  • There are 3 types of slide knobs provided for fine-tuning the hatch's opening angle.
    Depending on usage, the hatch may open too far and come off, so please choose according to your preference.
  • The cowl parts have been modeled and the 3mf profile optimized through repeated prototyping on the A1 mini. However, if the parts are loose due to individual differences in filament, please apply masking tape or similar to the snap-fit section on the back of the parts to adjust the fit.

  • wall(Shell) 3 loops
  • Infill 10-15%
