Mitsubishi AC Airflow Deflector

Improve comfort without reducing cooling performance!

This air deflector was designed specifically for the Mitsubishi Heavy Industries FDTC22KXZE1 ceiling cassette air conditioner.

In our office, people sitting directly underneath the air conditioning units constantly experienced cold airflow blowing on their neck and shoulders, while colleagues sitting further away preferred the room to be even cooler. This deflector redirects the airflow, eliminating the uncomfortable direct draft while still allowing the room to cool effectively.

The deflector is attached to the unit using double-sided tape and can be installed within minutes.

To prevent possible moisture accumulation, I also added several small drain holes that allow any condensation to escape.

After installing these deflectors, the office became much more comfortable for everyone—people directly below the unit no longer receive cold air on their bodies, while the overall room temperature remains pleasant.

Printing

• Designed to print without supports to save both material and print time.
• The large opening requires a fairly long bridge.
• Depending on your printer and settings, the bridge may sag slightly.
• This area is completely hidden after installation and has no impact on functionality, so I intentionally accepted this trade-off to avoid the need for supports.

Installation

• Clean the mounting surface.
• Apply high-quality double-sided tape to the mounting areas.
• Position the deflector and press firmly onto the air conditioning unit.
