Description

ESP32 DevKit V1 Snap-Fit Enclosure (30-Pin)

A compact, two-piece enclosure designed specifically for the common 30-pin ESP32 DevKit V1 development board. This case provides a clean, professional housing while maintaining easy access to the USB port for programming and power.

The enclosure uses a snap-fit lid, eliminating the need for screws or glue. The latch has been designed to provide a firm, secure fit when printed in PLA, keeping the lid securely closed during normal use.

The ESP32 rests on the internal support posts and fits snugly enough that it stays securely in position without additional fasteners.

Included Versions

This model includes two enclosure variants:

  • Print Plate 1: Fully enclosed base with only the USB port exposed for a clean, protected enclosure.
  • Print Plate 2: Base with an opening underneath to provide access to the ESP32 GPIO header pins while still protecting the rest of the board. This version is ideal if you regularly connect jumper wires, sensors, or other peripherals without removing the enclosure.

Both versions use the same snap-fit lid.

Print Settings

This model was designed and tested with:

  • Material: PLA
  • Layer Height: 0.20 mm
  • Nozzle: 0.4 mm
  • Supports: Not required
  • Brim: Not required

Print Orientation

For maximum strength, print the lid standing on its side. This orients the layer lines across the snap-fit latches, making them significantly stronger and more resistant to breaking.

The case body should be printed upright as supplied.

Assembly

  1. Place the ESP32 onto the internal support posts.
  2. Ensure the USB connector aligns with the opening in the enclosure.
  3. Press the lid into place until both snap latches engage.

The board is held securely by the enclosure and should not move during normal use.

Compatibility

Designed to fit the common 30-pin ESP32 DevKit V1 development board (such as the one shown in the photos). Other ESP32 variants, including 38-pin boards, are not compatible.
