Description

Give your Bambu Lab printer a retro gaming makeover!

I couldn't find a PS Vita inspired bezel for my X2D or P2S, so I decided to design one myself. The goal wasn't just to make something that looked similar, it was to capture the proportions, spacing and overall feel of the original handheld while making it work naturally with the printer's touchscreen.

The printer's display is slightly larger than the PS Vita's, so I chose to keep the bezel true to the console's proportions rather than shrinking the design and throwing off the iconic look. The result is a bezel that feels instantly recognisable while making the printer screen look like it was always meant to be there.

The bezel simply snap-fits over the existing display with no modifications required.

To maintain the authentic proportions of the original unit, the screen is intentionally tilted slightly upwards to provide enough clearance for the printer door to open. If you prefer to mount your screen flush against the printer, this design may not be suitable. However, I personally keep my screen slightly offset from the unit, so this has never been an issue for me. You still retain almost the full range of movement only the final portion of travel, when the screen is pushed completely flush against the printer, is lost. For me, preserving the correct proportions was well worth the small compromise.

The shoulder buttons and camera lens are designed to be printed in a transparent filament for the best appearance, but they can also be printed in any colour you like.

Whether you're a PlayStation fan, a retro gaming enthusiast or just want to personalise your printer, this is a fun little project that adds plenty of character without affecting everyday usability.

As always, if you print one I'd love to see your setup! Feel free to upload your make, and if you think it's worthy of one, a Like, Download or Boost is always hugely appreciated.

Printing Notes

  • The shoulder buttons and camera lens are intended to be printed in transparent filament (optional) thay are coloured yellow in the studio.
  • Install by simply snapping the bezel over the existing screen.
  • Tilt the screen slightly upwards to allow the opening the printer door to prevent contact.
  • Compatible with both the X2D and P2S.
