This is my dual hose mod for the KOENIC KAC 12022 portable air conditioner.
The idea is to add a separate fresh air intake, so the unit can pull air through an extra 150 mm hose instead of using already cooled room air.
Compatibility
Tested on:
- KOENIC KAC 12022
It may also fit:
- KOENIC KAC 14022
I have not tested it on the KAC 14022, so please check the shape and dimensions before printing.
Important: Required Hose Connector
For the 150 mm hose connection you need the rotary lock / bayonet hose connector from Partalarm.
Please download it directly from his profile:
Big thanks to Partalarm for allowing me to use his connector concept.
Please also support his model, since the hose connector is required for this mod.
The part is designed so that the original KOENIC filter still fits behind the 3D printed cover.
This keeps the intake area close to the original factory setup.
Print Info
I recommend printing the part in PETG.
PLA is not recommended because the part is used on a portable AC unit and may be exposed to heat, airflow and mechanical stress.
The model is about 304 mm high, so I prepared it as a two-part print.
In my opinion, this is the best and most reliable way to print it.
A one-piece version is also included for larger printers, but I still recommend the split version. The upper side has a 90-degree overhang and needs quite a lot of support, so I cannot guarantee how clean the top side will print in one piece.
Print Recommendations
- PETG recommended
- Brim recommended
- Use the provided print profile if possible
- Good bed adhesion is important
- Print the split version for the best result
- If printing the one-piece version, print slower and make sure your printer is stable
My test print was done on a Bambu Lab P2S.
I cannot guarantee the result on bed slinger printers like the Bambu Lab A1 or similar machines, because the model is quite tall and vibrations can affect the print.
Assembly / Sealing
After installation, I recommend sealing the edges of the printed cover with adhesive tape.
This helps reduce air leaks, so more air is pulled through the 150 mm hose instead of around the printed part.
Also make sure the hose is not blocked, kinked or too restricted.
STEP File
I also included the STEP file.
Feel free to modify the model or create a remix if you need a different version for your setup.
