Waterproof Ship - Black Pearl

Introduction:

This is not just any ship. This is the legendary Black Pearl, the fastest ship in the Caribbean, inspired by the movies! I have recreated it with the highest level of detail.

What's Special: This model is designed to be waterproof and actually float! But like any legendary ship, there's a catch, a challenge only the bravest builders can master.

The Challenge:

Due to the high level of detail and the different weight ratios of the 3D printing material compared to the "real" ship, the Black Pearl is extremely top-heavy and unstable in the water.

Without adjustment, it will immediately tip over. You have to balance it!

Step-by-step guide to trimming:

1. Weight Placement: To keep it upright, you need to attach weights to the bottom of the hull. You can use small lead pellets, metal plates, or fishing weights. In our example image, we attached small weights to the keel to demonstrate the effect.
2. Fine-tuning: Experiment with the position and amount of weights. Add small amounts and check how the balance in the water changes. 
3. Perfect Stability: The goal is to adjust the metacenter/center of gravity so that the ship floats upright in the water without tipping. This is a true engineering feat!
