Print-in-Place Throwable Glider Plane

After many iterations, test throws, tweaks, and “almost there” versions, I finally have a Version 1 of this fully 3D printed throwable glider that I’m happy with.

This is a print-in-place 3D printed plane designed to be a quick, fun, and easy flying toy. 

throw it like a dart , pinching just behind the main wings ,(just like in the picture )

No complicated build, no big assembly session, just print it, remove it from the bed, and get throwing.

The goal was to make something that actually uses the strengths of 3D printing  lightweight, simple, quick to print, and fun straight off the plate. It has a wide glider-style wing, printed-in-place body, and a nice hand-launch feel, making it a great little outdoor toy, test model, or weekend print.

It is designed as a throwable plane / glider, so a bit of testing with your throwing angle may be needed. Like most small gliders, gentle throws usually work better than trying to launch it like a missile. Try a calm day, throw it level, and adjust as needed.

This is still Version 1, but after a lot of testing I’m happy enough with it to share. 

please keep an eye out for a Version 2 in the near future at some point, as I already have ideas for improving the glide, shape, and overall performance.
