1/35 Soviet BTR-70 Armored Personnel Carrier
Print Profile(1)

Description
BTR-70 Armored Personnel Carrier 1/35 Scale
This is a BTR-70 Soviet eight-wheeled armored personnel carrier model designed for FDM 3D printing. The model keeps the iconic low-profile hull, 8x8 layout, small turret, front trim vane, side hatches, towing hooks, engine deck covers, and tire tread details of the BTR-70. It is suitable for military model collections, desktop display, diorama building, and scale vehicle enthusiasts.
The model has been optimized based on real test prints, with a focus on balancing detail, print reliability, and assembly experience. The hull has clean lines, and the tires and wheel hubs look great when printed in separate colors. With army green for the body and black for the tires, it already has a solid display look even without painting.
If you like Cold War vehicles, Soviet armored vehicles, or 1/35 scale military models, this BTR-70 will be a great addition to your armored vehicle lineup.
Main Features
- 1/35 scale BTR-70 armored personnel carrier
- One-piece printed hull
- Classic eight-wheeled armored vehicle shape with a low and long body profile
- Separate tire and wheel hub details with clear tread texture
- Detailed turret, machine gun, front hatches, trim vane, side doors, and other exterior features
- Designed for FDM printing, balancing strength and display quality
- Two-color printing without AMS: army green body + black tires
- Great for military models, dioramas, desktop collections, and painting practice
Recommended Print Settings
- Material: PLA
- Main body: 0.4 mm nozzle, 0.08 mm layer height recommended
- I ran out of green filament, but after restocking I may test it again with a 0.2 mm nozzle
- Slower outer wall speed is recommended to improve the surface finish of armor plates and tire texture
- Clean the build plate before printing; glue stick can be used for better adhesion on smaller parts
Important Notes

- Some detail parts are small, so please be careful when removing supports and assembling
- Thin parts such as the machine gun, handrails should not be bent with force
- If you plan to paint the model, light sanding and primer are recommended before painting
- Printing the tires separately in black filament will give a look closer to the real vehicle
If you like this model, please consider liking, collecting, commenting, and sharing your printed results. Your feedback helps me keep improving my models and creating more high-quality military vehicles.
I will probably focus mainly on the infantry fighting vehicle / armored vehicle series next.
