Description

This is a bearing installer to help with installing bearings on fractional motors (1hp and under) and vintage woodworking/metalworking machine shafts. This is not just for vintage machinery as a lot of today's production and custom machinery uses 5/8" shafts and bearings for such. I designed this bearing installer to install new bearings in the 1951 Delta Rockwell Bullet Motor that is in my 1939 Delta Unisaw (4 foot sawe). The bearings I installed using this on the 1951 Delta Bullet electric motor shaft were NTN 87504 / 2as. I needed an installer that was at least 20mm in diameter to press (gently hammer) the new bearings on the motor shaft, so I designed this to have a 21mm inside diameter to have some wiggle room. This bearing installer will work for a wide array of situations and bearings sizes as long as the ID of the bearing is not more than 21mm. This size will help install most bearings for vintage fractional electric motors and other bearings on shafts in/on various vintage (antique) woodworking and metalworking machines that were made in America using 5/8" diameter shafts.

This could also be used as a shaft protector when working on your machines and you don't want to damage your shaft.
