Description

We all know the feeling. You've just created a ton of tokens and you've lost track of which are tapped, which are 1/1s, which are 2/2, and which have separate effects. Maybe you're out of official Token cards. Maybe you're tired of dice hastily and haphazardly stacked on them. Either way, there's only so much you can do with cards on the table.

This project is here to help. It's a set of Magic: The Gathering-sized “cards” designed to help you keep track of your token stats. Each of the supported token types has easy-to-recognize art so you can pick it out on the battlefield, the basic rules text you need to know, and three slots for Chessex 12mm d6 dice. The bottom slots indicate Power and Toughness. The top right indicates how many of that token you have on the battlefield.

Instructions

As you play and your tokens multiply, fall in battle, or grow, simply adjust the D6 indicators to keep track of your board at a glance. (See the animated gif in the attached model photos.)

For example, say you have 3 1/1 Soldier tokens on the battlefield. Place your 3d printed token and simply add two d6s turned to “1” to each of the bottom slots, and one set to “3” to the top-right. Then suppose you cast “Flowering of the White Tree,” giving them +1/+1. Just turn your bottom d6s to “2.”

Available Tokens

Currently we have tokens for:

  • Orc Army, themed with an Eye of Mordor (just in time for The Hobbit!)
  • Soldier, themed with a laurel wreath and Roman “SPQR” initials (great for your Fallout "Caesar, Legion's Emperor" precon)
  • Construct, themed with the iconic outline of a larcenous robot
  • And a Blank Frame, which is precisely measured to sit just over any official Token card you have on the battlefield, and gives you the same three slots to indicate stats

Printing Guidelines

These look best when printed with a 0.2mm nozzle. But they print just fine with 0.4 nozzle. If you're on Desktop, double-check to make sure Arachne wall generation is enabled.

If you're using the AMS, be prepared for a lot of color switches and, on a 0.2 nozzle, long print times. If you like the idea of this project, I highly recommend printing a mono-color version with a 0.4 nozzle. Then, if it works well for you, print as many as you think you will need on a single plate with the nozzle of your choice. This will minimize filament purge waste.
