The Twistex Probe was a weather instrument used in the TWISTEX project to collect real-time data inside or near tornadoes. It measured wind speed, pressure, temperature, and humidity to help scientists understand tornado dynamics. The project ended in 2013 after the tragic loss of three team members during the El Reno tornado.
