⚙️ Print Settings & Materials

• Chassis, Knobs, Keys, Back Panel: PLA works flawlessly here. Choose contrasting colors (e.g., black for the body, silver/grey for the keys, and gold/bronze for the side knobs) to make the details pop without needing an AMS.
• The Typebars: While PLA works fine, printing the typebar cluster in PETG gives those fine, radiating arms a bit more flexibility and structural durability.
• Infill: 8% Gyroid provides a solid, weighted feel on a table so it doesn't move when you pull a sheet.
• Supports: Only for the main chassis

💡 Pro-Tip: The typebar cluster features small, precise connecting pins. Due to slight variations in printer tolerances and the delicate nature of these elements, a quick pass with a hobby knife/file or a tiny drop of superglue may be needed to achieve a perfectly flush, permanent snap-fit into the top recess of the main body.

🛠️ Step-by-Step Assembly

Putting your TypeRoll together is straightforward and mechanical:

1. Snap the Typebars: Carefully line up the delicate pins of the typebar segment and press them into the dedicated fan-shaped recess on top of the main body.
2. Populate the Keys: Place your keycaps into their respective holes on the front sloping deck.
3. Load the Paper: Insert a fresh paper towel roll into the main rear chamber, feeding the first sheet up through the horizontal platen slot.
4. Secure the Roll: Thread the two side platen knobs through the chassis walls and into the center core of the paper towel roll to lock it securely in place.
5. Slide the Back Closed: Align the back panel with its tracks, slide it completely down to lock the compartment, and enjoy!
