ENGLISH:
GPS Mount for the AvionRC Ikon3
This mount was designed for the AvionRC Ikon3, but it will most likely also fit other models from the AvionRC Ikon series.
Positioning the GPS module at the front significantly improves satellite signal reception. It helps isolate the GPS from the main sources of interference, such as nearby receiver and telemetry transmitter antennas, as well as the VTX.
The design was created specifically for smaller and lighter GPS modules. The mount includes a dedicated installation area and a special separating tab that keeps the GPS electronics isolated from the frame. Installation is simple and does not require forcing the module into place.
I prepared two versions:
1. GPS module positioned further back
This version allows full adjustment of the camera angle. However, when using longer batteries, it may slightly limit battery placement and require the battery to be moved further back.
2. GPS module positioned further forward
This version allows the default viewing angle of the DJI O4 Pro camera to be maintained while also providing an optimal centre of gravity by keeping the battery centrally positioned. In practice, if you fly very fast and use a high camera uptilt angle, the mount may slightly restrict the camera’s field of view.
The GPS module used in my build is the RUSHFPV GNSS Micro M10, measuring 15 × 12 mm.
Have fun and enjoy your flights — hopefully you will never actually need the GPS!
