Description
This model is the mechanical turret unit of the open-source G2A-LADD (Ground-to-Air Low-Altitude Drone Detection) project. The system uses two high-torque MG996R servo motors to provide horizontal (pan) and vertical (tilt) movement.
The body is specifically designed to carry a Logitech Brio 100, 101, or 105 series USB camera and a KY-008 laser module on the same axis. Consisting of five parts in total, this structure is fully optimized for 3D printing.
Recommended Print Settings:
- Material: PLA or PETG
- Layer Height: 0.2 mm
- Wall Loops (Perimeters): 3
- Infill: 20-25% is sufficient for all main body parts. It is recommended to use 100% infill only for the small support piece called "Idler Pin". Gyroid pattern is recommended.
Assembly and Tolerance Notes:
Depending on your printer's precision and minor manufacturing differences in MG996R motors on the market, you might need some minor adjustments during assembly:
- You can lightly sand the inner edges of the camera slot to ensure the webcam fits perfectly and securely.
- If the standard screws included with the motors do not fit the printed mounting holes, you can slightly widen the holes with a small drill bit or use different screws.
Software and AI Tracking Codes: The files here only include the mechanical design. You can access the system's ESP32 control codes, wiring diagrams, and Python/YOLO-based AI tracking software via the project page.
