Tie Droid Starfighter - Micro Galaxy Squadron Style

A fully 3D-printable Tie Droid Starfighter inspired by my deep love for Micro Galaxy Squadron ships. Original model made by Astrofossil.

As a big fan of the Micro Galaxy Squadron line, I always wanted to expand the universe with ships that either don't exist yet or will probably never be officially released. The Tie Droid was the perfect candidate, a menacing droid variant that fits right in with the classic Imperial aesthetic while feeling fresh and aggressive.

The model has been scaled to match MGS ships, in particular other Tie fighters.The model has been splitted for coloring with the AMS, the wings have been reworked, separated from the cockpit, and splitted in half to enable easier print with less filament waste. The result is a little kit super easy and fun to assemble.

Printing & Assembly Notes:

The model is designed for easy and fast printing. The wings are split in half to significantly reduce print time, filament switch and support needs.

Assembly steps:

• Glue the two halves of each wing together.
• Important: Pay close attention to which exterior panel you glue on — the external grey part sticking our of the wing must line up properly with the wing connector so everything looks correct.
• Once the wings are assembled, they slot easily and securely into the "eyeball" cockpit connectors of the Tie Droid.

The rest of the model prints in a clean, straightforward way with minimal supports. It captures the classic TIE spherical cockpit combined with the aggressive droid-inspired wing design, making it a great display piece or addition to your collection.
