Overview
Create your own insulated distribution stud using standard hardware.
This fully parametric model captures a standard hex bolt inside the mount using a flat washer and either a standard hex or Nyloc nut, creating a strong threaded stud for AC or DC power distribution.
Ideal for battery systems, solar installations, automotive wiring, marine projects, electrical enclosures, control panels and general engineering applications.
Parametric Features
Simply adjust the model to suit your hardware:
- Bolt thread size
- Bolt head size (perfect for those awkward 12 mm or 13 mm M8 heads!)
- Bolt head depth
- Stud height
- Mount thickness
- Mounting hole diameter
The mounting holes are designed for M6 Socket Head Cap Screws or M6 Button Head Screws, which I feel are more than adequate for this application. If you'd like larger fixing options, let me know and I'll happily add them in a future update.
Assembly
You'll need:
- 1 × Hex bolt
- 1 × Flat washer
- 1 × Standard or Nyloc nut
- 2 × M6 Socket Head Cap Screws or Button Head Screws
Insert the bolt from underneath, fit the washer and nut, tighten everything together, then mount the assembly using the two M6 fixing holes.
