Description
Curved skids, snap-fit design. It utilizes multi-part printing, separating the skids into objects to be laid flat on the build plate, with no supports needed. After printing, assemble using the snap-fit method. Two versions are available depending on your printing material. The heat-fusion version is suitable for materials difficult to bond with super glue, such as nylon, PP, and other filaments. After interlocking, 0.8mm will protrude from the bottom of the skid. Gently flatten the protruding part with a soldering iron, applying light and slow pressure for the material to fully melt and fuse. The glue-bond version is suitable for materials easily bonded with super glue, such as PC, ABS, PETG, etc. After interlocking, there will be no protrusion from the bottom of the skid; a dab of super glue will provide a strong bond (Of course, these materials can also be heat-fused, depending on your preference). It is recommended to choose elastic materials for good impact resistance. From my experiments, the heat-fused PP material created a very strong bond, almost impossible to damage, and is very lightweight (The advantages of PP material are its near-zero water absorption, light weight, and excellent flexibility, though its drawback is printing difficulty). Interlocking requires some force, as this compact design is for better stability. To prevent strength loss due to layer adhesion, the skids are designed to be straight. After printing, gently heat the front end with a lighter and manually shape it to curve upwards. M2 series skids will be released later, please stay tuned. Happy flying to all drone enthusiasts
