Description

A cover for Decora-style double light switches, inspired by ship engine order telegraphs. Not modelled off any particular real-world model, just a general simplification. No MMU or AMS needed.

Required Hardware:

8x Round magnets (6x2mm)

Round double-sided tape (usually 10mm diameter)

Superglue

Assembly Instructions:

  1. Glue the badges to both sides of the case.
  2. Use double-sided tape to attach the contact pads to the rocker. The opening should be placed on the outside.
  3. Use superglue to stick the magnets to the magnet holders.
  4. Attach round double-sided tape to the back of magnet holder #2 (See image).
  5. Press the case against the original cover. Magnet holder #2 should stay on the original cover, leaving the case removable.
  6. Attach the handles to the contact pads.

All files are pre-oriented for the best printing results.

Update June 29: To get a smooth finish on the curved surface, I printed the case sideways (as oriented in the file). However, this resulted in the corners above the magnet holders being slightly uneven (see photo). I drafted a simple corner decor to cover them up. Just print 4x decor and an alignment tool, and glue them to the case. Of course, this is totally optional.
