Description

Note: I created another version of this canopy with a vertical antenna.

This canopy is compatible with a 25.5mm x 25.5mm spacing, making it suitable for all the various Beta FPV Air65 and Air75 models.

 

This canopy solves some issues with the video antenna and connector, and also allows for varying degrees of cam tilt.


Regarding the video antenna, the short cable means it's very taut, and during hard crashes, with the original canopy, it could slip out of its socket and tear the connector.

 

With this canopy, the video antenna is secured lower, so the cable isn't pulled tight and the connector isn't stressed in the event of a crash.

 

Furthermore, the canopy's shape doesn't stress the UFL connector attachment on the FC AIO board.

 

The rear holes in the canopy allow the cam to be tilted more or less depending on the context and the pilot's skill.

THERE ARE 2 VERSIONS OF THIS CANOPY. PLEASE KEEP READING SO YOU DON'T MAKE A MISTAKE.

 

When you buy a BNF Beta FPV Air65/75, the manufacturer ships it assembled with the FC AIO's ELRS chip positioned under the FPV cam. 

This means that in a crash, the cap could hit the ELRS chip and damage it.

To avoid this, you can disassemble the drone and rotate the FC AIO 180° (on the yaw axis) so that the ELRS chip is no longer under the drone's FPV cam.
This also causes the video connector to move.

 

That said, there are 2 canopies because those who DO NOT WANT to make the modification must download and print the "Canopy_2" file,

 

while those who intend to make the modification to preserve the ELRS chip must download/print the "Canopy_1" file.

 

WARNING

 

If you plan to make this modification and rotate the FC AIO, please note that you must have a basic understanding of drone parameterization with the Betaflight software. 

Once the FC has been rotated, the motors must be re-aligned, the FC AIO position recalibrated, and a general check of the motor rotation direction must be performed.
