Description

Description :

This is a 3D printed model of a 4 cylinder DOHC engine. The engine is of  the Ibishu Miramar from BeamNG.drive, equipped with racing parts for the carburetor and exhaust manifold. I exported the model and made some modifications to it ( I divided the model into 3 parts : gearbox, engine block and exhaust manifold) in order to make easier to print, remove supports and paint. I resized the model to 1/18 and 1/24 scale.

The model from the pictures is painted. For the engine block I used metallic grey ( Tamiya XF-56), the valve cover is painted in flat red ( Italieri 4606AP), the racing parts are in chrome silver ( Tamiya X-11), the gearbox is in flat aluminum ( Tamiya XF-16) ,the other parts are in flat black ( Tamiya XF-1) and the gold accents and blue filter are in gold leaf ( Tamiya X-12) and gloss french blue ( Italieri 4659AP).

Notes :

  • I suggest printing it in white, that way painting is easier and no second coat is required.
  • Some supports may be harder to remove, but not impossible ( if some supports are stubborn you can use a craft knife).
  • Be careful when removing supports from the alternator because it is prone to breaking off.
  • In order to assemble the 3 parts glue is required ( I used Tamiya cement).
  • When assembling the gearbox, some supports may still be attached to the connector from the engine block ( just break them off).
  • Happy printing :)
