Welcome to my seaside getaway: the Lighthouse!

 

For a long time, I wanted to design a functional lighthouse, but I could never find a satisfying way to recreate the rotating beacon. Thanks to the Bambu Lab Magnetic Levitation Kit (ZC008), I was finally able to bring this idea to life!

 

This project combines classic lighthouse architecture with Bambu Lab's Magnetic Levitation Kit to create the illusion of a glowing lantern floating above the tower. Every part of this lighthouse was carefully designed and modeled from scratch, with a strong focus on clean assembly, realistic proportions, and beautiful illumination.

 

The result is a decorative piece that looks just as impressive during the day as it does at night. Wherever you put it, the floating lantern creates a mesmerizing effect that's sure to catch everyone's attention.

 

Inspired by traditional coastal beacons, this lighthouse is designed to capture the peaceful feeling of standing by the sea at sunset, watching the lighthouse guide ships safely home.

Printing Notes

  • Please note that the Gazebo Glass MUST be printed in vase mode!
  • AMS is NOT required. All parts can be printed on a single-extruder printer. I only used AMS for the small gray details on the door, but those can easily be painted or left as a single color.
  • Supports are encouraged for this model.
  • The model was designed with alignment features to make assembly simple and beginner-friendly.
  • Feel free to customize the colors to recreate your favorite real-world lighthouse!
  • Because the white PLA is slightly translucent, the light shines through the tower walls. To prevent light leakage, I lined the inside of the white tower sections with aluminum tape (silver tape), which blocks the light and keeps the illumination focused inside the lighthouse.

  • Windows & Door Glass: PETG Translucent Light Blue
  • Rocks: PLA Matte Ash Gray

Assembly

The lighthouse is printed in multiple sections to improve print quality and simplify assembly. Each part includes alignment features, and the model is intended to be glued together.

 

Install the Bambu Lab Magnetic Levitation Kit (ZC008) according to its instructions, then assemble the lighthouse around the kit. Once everything is aligned, simply place the lantern onto the levitation module and enjoy the magical floating effect.

 

The warm LED inside the lantern transforms the lighthouse into a cozy ambient lamp that's especially beautiful in the evening.
