Description

The SnapClip is a print-in-place utility clamp featuring an innovative locking mechanism and an intuitive opening/closing system.
To close and lock the clamp, simply squeeze it firmly in the middle (Pinch to Lock). To open it, just squeeze the tail end (Pinch to Release) – the clever internal mechanism will effortlessly snap the jaws open. Please note that both locking and unlocking require a deliberate, firm press to engage and disengage the mechanism.

3D Printing Recommendations

  • Material: I highly recommend printing this model in PETG due to its flexibility, durability, and excellent spring-like properties.
  • A Note on PLA: While I have successfully tested this print in PLA, you should be aware of the material's limitations for this specific design.
    • First, PLA is much stiffer, making the clamp significantly harder to open and close.
    • Second, PLA is prone to plastic deformation and material fatigue (creep). Over time, the release tabs will start to bend outward and lose their original shape. While PETG can also experience this slightly over extended periods, it performs substantially better and holds its shape much longer.
