Description

I wanted a bug screen for the front windows of my mercedes camper van that were not so obvious. These are well hidden behind our Weathertech side window deflectors.  They fold down into thirds when not in use. I used left over nylon screen door repair material for the mesh sandwiched in between the similar parts (there is a groove/recessed area to help offset the extra width of the mesh). I glued the pieces together with super glue and used short cut parts of a wire cloths hanger (2mm diameter) for the pin in the hinges (don't tell my wife that's why her dress was crumbled up in the corner). On the Center piece it's most important to make sure that the inner sides near the mesh line up  as opposed to the outer two pieces where it is more important to line up the out edges. Ignore the ridges/fins on the top side seen in the photos, I found that those just made for a worse fit and thus deleted them.

UPDATE V1.2  Located in Folder BSV12 (No Awning but with tab) is a hinged version with tabs to help hold the bug shield in position. I deleted them from my version because there was limited space in the gap for the window with the weather tech window thingy and found that the just messed with the fit too much for my liking. Someone wanted a version with the tabs. If you print these and have issues LMK, I always welcome feed back.

UPDATE V2.  located in Folder BSV1. Someone asked for a version that had an awning since they didn't have a weather tech window cover. These files are up for the driver's side and are listed as DS1 and DS2 in a gcode format.  I had to do away with the folding hinge mechanism due to the awning so they are more of snap together. There is still a gap for you to place screen door mesh. Every time I tried to design a small enough mesh to keep out no see-ums and mosquitos my online CAD program had a seizure. If someone prints this please send feedback. If it works for you LMK  (please post a photo) and I'll upload the mirror version for the passenger side. This isn't for my van with the window covering so I haven't invested a ton of time in to the print.
