Description
With this model, the Midea Portasplit can be reversibly converted to a 2-way condensate operation without modifying the device itself or risking loss of warranty.
In addition to the parts in this model, you will also need a silicone hose with a 5mm inner diameter and this 3-way hose valve.
Simply unscrew the 2 screws of the original cover, remove the cover, and disconnect the silicone hose from the connector.
Screw the hose valve to the lower part of the new cover with 2 8mm M3 screws, glue all parts, connect a hose of the required length to the side outlet and guide it through the hole, connect an approximately 12 cm long piece of hose to the upper connection and connect it to the outdoor unit with the hose connector. Attach the hose from the water tank to the lower connection.
Now place the cover onto the 2 latches at the bottom and secure it with the original screws at the top.
Now you can choose whether the water should be pumped to the outdoor unit as usual (position “out”), or through the new hose into a canister or sink, etc. (position “in”).
This conversion is ideal if, for example, like in my case, there is a terrace with a lounge area directly under the outdoor unit, so that the condensate cannot simply be drained outside. If the location changes, you simply have to turn the valve 90° and the water will drain from the outdoor unit as usual again.
