Description

This is a press-fit afocal adapter for mounting a PVS-14 style night vision monocular in front of compatible Canon RF / RF-S lenses.

The adapter was originally designed around the Canon RF 50mm F1.8 STM, but it also fits the Canon RF-S 14-30mm kit lens.

In general, it should work with lenses that have an approximately 69mm diameter front barrel section.

Designed for:
- Canon RF 50mm F1.8 STM
- Canon RF-S 14-30mm kit lens
- Other lenses with an approximately 69mm front outer diameter
- PVS-14 style monoculars
- Afocal night vision photography and video

Fitment notes:
- The lens-side fit is very tight by design
- Some sanding may be required depending on your printer calibration, filament, and lens tolerances
- Test fit slowly and do not force the adapter onto your lens or night vision device
- PLA works for testing, but PETG, ASA, or ABS is recommended for better durability
- Black filament is recommended to reduce internal reflections

Usage notes:
Mount the adapter over the front portion of the Canon lens, then press-fit the PVS-14 into the opposite side. For best image quality, manually focus both the camera lens and the PVS-14. Keeping the PVS-14 eyepiece close to the camera lens helps reduce vignetting.

Again, this is a tight press-fit accessory.

Use it carefully and at your own risk. Do not force it to work, if its too tight give it some light sanding and try again.

A PVS-14 is heavier than a normal lens hood or filter, so use a safety lanyard, hand support, camera cage, or rail support when possible.

DO NOT let the PVS14 just dangle on the end of the adapter.

I'm looking into making a support for this soon, but for now use both hands and a lanyard of some kind so you dont drop your $2k+ investment.
