THE MODEL :

Frame your finest treasures and collectibles with dramatic historic flair using this magnificent Baroque-style decorative wall arch niche. This unique three-dimensional model features a beautiful recessed rounded arch opening, flanked by detailed architectural pilasters and topped with twin high-relief scallop shell (rocaille) motifs. Crowned with an opulent pediment of dense sweeping scrolls and flowing flourishes, this floating alcove includes a sturdy, molded display shelf. It is the ultimate statement piece to anchor a sophisticated Dark Academia library, dress up a narrow accent wall, or exhibit vintage perfume bottles, raw crystals, and botanical relics.

Tested Print Settings (Recommendations): The clean lines of the inner arch, the deep grooves of the side shells, and the complex curves of the crown were successfully verified using matte black PLA, as featured in the file Gemini_Generated_Image_e9ltb4e9ltb4e9lt.png.

• Infill: Printed at 5% for a lightweight decorative wall mount setup. Slicing Pro-Tip: The broad, flat backing surface naturally distributes weight efficiently against the wall. However, if you plan to use the bottom ledge to hold heavy or dense artifacts, we suggest boosting the infill rate to 20% and running 4 wall loops (perimeters) to secure maximum stiffness on the horizontal shelf lip.
• Nozzle: 0.4 mm
• Supports: Well-placed tree supports are required beneath the overhanging inner top arch curve and below the protruding bottom ledge molding for a flawless surface finish.

Sizing Information: The model features elegant vertical proportions optimized to frame focus objects with classical symmetry. Please feel free to freely resize the model based on your desired use within your slicing software to custom-tailor the inner alcove space to your exact display requirements.

INFORMATION:

A common question is: why do these prints require supports when they could be printed lying flat?

For my designs, I deliberately choose to print them standing upright rather than flat, in order to achieve the best possible level of detail. I prioritize visual quality over saving a few grams of filament.

Of course, you are free to change the print orientation in your slicer if you prefer.
