Overview
An integrated height-increasing damping base designed specifically for the Bambu Lab X2D, combining machine body elevation with vibration damping and buffering functions. During high-speed printing, the print head's reciprocating motion can easily cause high-frequency, small-amplitude vibrations at the top of the machine body, resulting in noticeable visual wobbling; this damping frame uses a granular fluid damping structure to absorb resonance energy, actual tests show it can reduce the amplitude of high-frequency top wobble by about 20%. The printer needs to be calibrated after printing and installation.
Recommended Printing Materials
Recommended filament: PETG (preferably Bambu Lab official black PETG, color can be chosen freely)
PLA is not recommended: PLA material has poor rigidity and insufficient toughness, is prone to deformation and creep under long-term load, which can lead to sealant failure and loosening of the damping structure, making it unable to guarantee long-term vibration reduction and leak-proof effects, and is only suitable for printing with PETG material.
Bill of Materials for Assembly
- Damping weight particles: 5mm steel balls, total filling weight 500g
- Damping buffer medium: 2000cSt dimethyl silicone oil (small bottle is enough)
- Sealant leak-proof accessories: 24mm outer diameter, 1mm wire diameter O-rings ×3
- Buffer anti-wear accessories: 1mm thick, 10mm wide self-adhesive single-sided rubber strip, used for cushioning the contact surface between the riser and the printer, reducing machine body wear and preventing hard contact from scratching the equipment casing
Key Product Features
- Height-increasing extension structure: Raises the AMS mounting base, widening the internal wiring and heat dissipation space, preventing filament tubes from being squeezed and bent, and optimizing the overall equipment layout.
- Granular fluid damping and vibration reduction: Steel balls combined with high-viscosity silicone oil specifically absorb tiny high-frequency resonances generated during high-speed movement, effectively weakening the visually perceptible wobble at the top of the machine body without altering the core structure of the equipment.
- Triple-sealed leak-proof design: Three O-ring sealing grooves are reserved, so silicone oil is not prone to leakage after assembly, ensuring stable damping performance during long-term use without frequent replenishment of silicone oil.
- Anti-wear cushioning design: Paired with a special self-adhesive rubber strip for contact surface cushioning, it eliminates hard friction between metal and printed parts, effectively protecting the printer's body paint and casing.
- Non-destructive body design: Only adds base support, without modifying core transmission components such as guide rails, belts, and motors, so the native printing accuracy is not affected in any way, only optimizing the visual effect of body wobble.
Important Usage Notes
After installation, you must re-run the machine calibration process before starting printing jobs, to avoid baseline shift issues caused by the elevation.

This is the functional V1 version, V2 optimized structure is currently being planned and developed, and subsequent updates will include model files and structural optimization instructions.
