Flexible TPU Wheel for TT DC Gear Motor
Print Profile(1)

Description
A lightweight wheel designed specifically for the popular TT 3V–6V DC gear motors. The wheel features a two-piece design that combines a rigid hub with a flexible tire for improved traction and shock absorption.
Features
- ✅ Designed for standard TT DC gear motors (3V–6V)
- ✅ Two-piece construction for multi-material printing
- ✅ Rigid hub for a secure motor shaft fit
- ✅ Flexible TPU suspension structure
- ✅ Directional tread for improved traction
- ✅ Includes both left and right wheel versions
Printing Recommendations
Inner Core
- Material: PLA or PETG
- The inner hub should be printed from a rigid material to ensure a tight and reliable fit on the motor shaft.
Outer Tire
- Material: TPU (highly recommended)
The outer tire consists of two functional elements:
- Outer tread ribs provide additional grip on a variety of surfaces.
- Curved internal ribs connect the tread to the hub. When printed in TPU, these ribs flex under load and act like small springs, allowing the tire to compress slightly. This improves shock absorption, increases ground contact on uneven terrain, and enhances overall traction.
While the model can be printed entirely in rigid materials, the spring effect is only achieved when the outer tire is printed in TPU.
Included Files
- Left wheel
- Right wheel
Both mirrored versions are included.
Print Settings
- Layer height: 0.2 mm
- Infill:
- Core: 25–40%
- TPU tire: The higer the better (recommended for durability and consistent spring behavior)
- Supports: Not required
- Brim: Recommended for TPU if needed
NOTE:
Make sure to dry your TPU before printing as it will result in stringing as see in picture!
