Description

This model is heavily inspired by the original Retro Mini Cooler design, which defined the overall concept, proportions, and retro aesthetic. Full credit for the original idea and visual design goes to the original creator.

This version is not a simple modification of the original files. It was fully rebuilt from scratch in Fusion 360, resulting in a new parametric CAD model designed for flexibility and customization.

The Fusion 360 source file (.f3d) is provided so users can fully edit and adapt the model.

What this version adds

Fully parametric Fusion 360 model

  • Designed from the ground up as a parametric system
  • Supports a wide range of can heights and diameters
  • Easily adapts to different beverage formats (standard, tall cans, etc.)
  • Adjustable can seating depth and exposure when the lid is open

Improved internal retention geometry

  • Redesigned lid and base geometry improves stability when the cooler is partially filled
  • Cans remain properly aligned even as they are removed
  • Stability is achieved entirely through structural geometry (no reliance on accessories)

Integrated magnet system (parametric)

  • Magnet pockets added to both lid and body
  • Fully parametric sizing for user-supplied magnets
  • Improves lid closure security while preserving the original aesthetic

Ice pack compatibility (updated system)

The original lid-mounted ice pack system has been removed and replaced with compatibility for a center-mounted ice pack design based on the community model:

Ice Pack for Retro Freezer Cooler

This ice pack is positioned between cans and is intended purely for thermal performance.

Attribution

This design is heavily inspired by the original Retro Mini Cooler and would not exist without it. All credit for the original concept, proportions, and design language belongs to the original creator.

This version was fully reconstructed in Fusion 360 as a new parametric model, rather than being a direct modification of the original files. A .f3d source file is included to allow full customization and transparency.

The center ice pack used in this setup is based on a separate community design. Credit belongs to its original creator.

This project exists to provide a fully editable parametric alternative for makers who want to adapt the design to different can sizes and hardware configurations.

Happy printing!
