THE MODEL :
Elevate your classical portraits, vintage art prints, or custom mirrors with this magnificent Baroque-inspired wall frame. Designed like a miniature altar retable, this unique three-dimensional model stands out with its elegant pointed top pediment featuring a beautifully sculpted high-relief scallop shell motif. The outer frame is bordered by sweeping, contoured columns and fluid historical moldings that bring theatrical shadow lines to your art layout. It is the ultimate statement frame to introduce a private gallery feel to your space, anchoring beautifully above entryway consoles, inside a sophisticated boudoir, or as part of an estate-style Dark Academia accent wall.
Tested Print Settings (Recommendations): The clean structural lines of the pointed arch, the deep grooves of the central shell, and the intricate surface carvings were successfully verified using matte black PLA, as featured in the file Gemini_Generated_Image_vd20fnvd20fnvd20.png.
- Infill: Printed at 5% for a lightweight decorative wall setup holding standard paper artwork. Slicing Pro-Tip: Because this model features detailed vertical moldings, if you plan to back it with a heavy glass pane or a solid custom wooden backing board, we suggest boosting the infill rate to 15-20% and running 4 wall loops (perimeters) to secure maximum structural stiffness.
- Nozzle: 0.4 mm
- Supports: Light tree supports are highly required beneath the horizontal arch overhangs and under the deepest outer scroll segments for a flawless surface finish.
Sizing Information: The frame's dimensions are proportioned to deliver a tall, elegant silhouette that looks exceptionally striking on accent pillars or narrow wall sections. Please feel free to freely resize the model based on your desired use within your slicing software to perfectly custom-tailor the inner window to the exact measurements of your artwork.
INFORMATION:
A common question is: why do these prints require supports when they could be printed lying flat?
For my designs, I deliberately choose to print them standing upright rather than flat, in order to achieve the best possible level of detail. I prioritize visual quality over saving a few grams of filament.
Of course, you are free to change the print orientation in your slicer if you prefer.
