Description

🌀 Universal Dual-Hose AC Adapter Kit (160mm)

Boost your portable air conditioner's efficiency! Convert your single-hose AC unit into a highly efficient dual-hose system to save energy, money, and cooling time.

Standard single-hose portable AC units create negative pressure, constantly drawing hot outdoor air into your room through gaps in doors and windows. This 3D-printed upgrade kit completely solves this issue. By separating intake air from exhaust air, your AC unit works significantly faster, lowers room temperature rapidly, and reduces electricity costs.

🔥 Key Benefits

  • Maximum Efficiency: Eliminates negative room pressure – hot air stays outside.
  • Faster Cooling: Your room reaches the target temperature in a fraction of the time.
  • Energy & Cost Savings: Less compressor runtime means noticeably lower electricity bills.
  • Optimized Airflow: Sleek internal design ensures minimal air resistance.
  • Clean & Professional Look: No ugly cardboard boxes, messy duct tape, or DIY gaps. This is a seamless, custom-fit solution that looks like an official factory part.

🧵 Advanced Thread Design

  • Dual continuous threads: The connectors feature 2 continuous thread turns. This specific geometry makes screwing the hose in significantly easier while ensuring a rock-solid, tight fit at the end. No slipping or air leaks!

🔍 Compatibility & Fitting

  • Device Model: Designed and tested on my personal portable AC unit, an ZOKOP (Model JHS-A032-12KR2/B1-W, bought as “LEADZM Mobile Klimagerät” on Amazon). I am not sure if it is a standard universal mount, so please check the pictures and dimensions.
  • Help the Community: If this adapter fits your specific AC brand and model, please leave a comment or post a make! I will add a list of compatible devices here to help other makers.

📏 Important Dimension Note (Hose Size)

  • Hose Diameter: This adapter is designed for 160mm hoses.
  • Buyer Beware: Many manufacturers sell these hoses online labeled as "150mm" when they actually measure closer to 160mm outer diameter. Please measure your hose before printing!

📦 Print Components

The system consists of two main functional parts:

  1. Exhaust Adapter: Compact counterpart for the hot air output.
    • Slide in size: 144,5 x 108 mm

  2. Intake Adapter (Large Volume): Engineered to guide fresh intake air directly from the outside.
    • Smart Design: To fit standard print beds (256x256mm) and eliminate the need for excessive supports, this large adapter is split into 5 precise segments.
    • Replaces the intake grille with a size of 283 x 272 mm,

🛠️ Assembly & Post-Processing

The 5 segments of the large intake adapter feature tight-fitting contact surfaces. For a durable, airtight seal, please follow these steps:

  • Recommended Glue: Use Superglue (Cyanoacrylate) for a quick bond, or 2-Component Epoxy for maximum strength and airtightness. I've used Superglue for 3D materials.
  • Assembly Tip: Use masking tape or painters tape to clamp the pieces together tightly while the glue cures.
  • Sealing: Run a thin bead of glue or silicone along the inside seams to ensure no air leaks out.

⚙️ Recommended Print Settings

I've printed it in PETG with 3 walls, enough that the walls of the parts are 100% made of material. Only the thread has 25% Infill set.

  • Material: PETG, ASA, or ABS is highly recommended. Standard PLA might deform under the intense heat of the AC exhaust.
  • Perimeters/Walls: At least 3 or 4 wall lines for structural strength.
  • Infill: 15% – 20% (Gyroid or Grid pattern).
  • Supports: Not required / Minimal (depending on your print bed orientation).
