Description

Update (v2): this rev adds a captured TPU gasket and a much better lid grip. Details below.

Why I built this: ball jars don't reseal worth a damn, and every printed screw-lid jar I could find either needed supports or didn't actually seal anything. So — BOSL2 threads, print-in-place-free (two parts, no glue, no supports on either), Ball-jar flutes, ~90mm body / 72mm thread neck. Fits any 220mm-class bed.

v2 upgrade: the lid now has a captured dovetail groove that snaps a printed TPU ring into place — it can't fall out during assembly and it actually seals against the jar rim instead of just sitting there looking like a gasket. Also fattened the grip: swapped the old thin knurling for 12 chunky ribs around the lid's middle third, so it torques down under a real hand instead of slipping when your fingers are sticky.

Print: PETG or PLA for the jar and lid, TPU (any flexible filament, ~95A) for the gasket ring. 2-3 walls, 15-20% infill, 0.2mm layers. Jar prints upright, lid mouth-down, gasket flat — all three parts are completely support-free. Test the thread fit after printing; if the lid binds, open up the slop parameter in the SCAD (0.40 default, bump to 0.45).

Parametric: stash_jar_publish.scad (grab the free BOSL2 library) — resize diameter, height, wall thickness, thread pitch, or kill the leaf emboss with emboss_leaf=false.
