Description

Metal pin 1.5x0.75mm or smaller recommended

Is it ugly? Kinda. Is it crude and poorly designed? Maybe. BUT…. does it meet the bare minimum of being considered “functional”? Yes!

This is actually the first thing I've ever 3D-modeled. I designed this sunvisor clip for my 1996 Eagle Vision. It will certainly fit 90s Chrysler LH cars, could likely fit other Chrysler models, and could possibly fit other vehicles altogether if the screw hole lines up. I didn't necessarily design this to share, I designed it for my own personal use, hence why it's so crude. However, I figured it wouldn't hurt sharing this model to other people!

This is revision 4.0. With this current design, it is highly recommended to insert some kind of metal pin or cotter key into the hole I have modeled going vertically through the part at the hook. This is to add rigidity, as with my first 3 revisions and using basic PLA, they seemed to snap easily. With a small cotter key inserted into it, however, the part is very rigid and works well. I personally used a cotter key which measured 1.5x0.75mm. It was a tight fit, but I didn't need glue. You could use a smaller pin but at some point you may need to introduce glue to keep it in place. IF you do not have any kind of pin to insert into this part for rigidity, I recommend tweaking the print orientation, maybe angling, as this part can break easily with horizontal print layers. Ideally I should've done this myself in the first place, but like I said, this was my first ever 3D model and I learned a lot from this experience. If my personal print breaks at any point, I'll make a new version.

Any feedback is greatly appreciated!

Photos 2-4 show the part after I used black spray paint on the part. Photo 2 shows my 3D model next to the car's original surviving sunvisor clip. Photos 1, 3, and 4 show the part installed
