Description

Inventum AC701 Secondary Intake Hose Adapter / Dual Hose Conversion

This is an air duct adapter for the Inventum AC701 portable air conditioner. It allows you to add a secondary intake hose to the rear intake side of the unit.

Single-hose portable air conditioners exhaust hot air outside. Because that exhausted air has to be replaced somehow, the room can become slightly negatively pressurized and pull warm outside air back in through gaps, doors, vents, and window seals. This adapter is intended to reduce that effect by allowing the AC unit to draw condenser/intake air through a second hose instead of constantly pulling already-cooled room air.

This is not an official Inventum part.

Included versions

There are three hose-size versions:

- 125 mm version — for hoses with approximately 125 mm inner diameter
- 145 mm version — for hoses with approximately 145 mm inner diameter
- 150 mm version — for hoses with approximately 150 mm inner diameter

The listed diameter is the outside diameter of the printed hose connection spigot, intended to match the inside diameter of the hose.

Compatibility

Designed for:

- Inventum AC701

It may fit similar Inventum units, but I have only tested/designed it for the AC701.

Recommended material

Print this in ABS.

The part sits close to a portable AC unit and may be exposed to warm air, sunlight near a window, and higher temperatures than normal indoor prints. For that reason I do **not** recommend PLA.

ASA should also work if you prefer it, but ABS is the recommended material.

Installation notes

- Mount the adapter over the rear intake grille as shown in the photos.
- Use a hose size matching the printed version.
- Keep the hose as short and straight as practical.
- Avoid sharp bends or restrictions.
- Make sure the original exhaust hose is still properly routed outside.
- Keep intake and exhaust hose openings separated outside so the AC does not pull its own hot exhaust air back in.
- After first use, check that the AC still has good airflow and that the printed part does not become too hot.

Safety / disclaimer

Use at your own risk. This is a modification to the airflow path of the AC unit. Do not block the exhaust, do not restrict airflow, and monitor the unit during the first test run. Stop using the adapter if the AC behaves abnormally, overheats, gives errors, or airflow seems restricted.
