Spiral Bolt Fidget Toy

This is a two-piece spiral fidget toy I designed and 3D printed.

It works by pushing the spiral bolt through the matching sleeve while turning it. The movement feels really smooth and satisfying once it lines up properly. It is a nice little desk toy to mess around with and works well as a fidget print.

The model includes both parts:

• Spiral bolt
• Matching sleeve

Print Settings

I printed mine in PLA and it worked well.

Recommended settings:

• Layer height: 0.16 mm to 0.24 mm
• Infill: 15% to 25%
• Walls: 3
• Supports: No
• Brim: Optional for the spiral bolt

The bolt is best printed upright. The sleeve can be printed flat on the bed.

How To Use

Print both parts, clean off any small bits of stringing, then line up the spiral bolt with the sleeve.

Push and twist at the same time and the bolt should pass through the sleeve.

Fitment

Every printer is a bit different, so the fit might need a tiny adjustment.

If it feels too tight, scale the sleeve to 101% in X and Y only. Leave Z the same.

If it feels too loose, scale the sleeve to 99% in X and Y only. Leave Z the same.

Notes

This is a fun little print for anyone who likes fidget toys, satisfying mechanisms, or small desk toys.
