Functional 8-Note Pan Flute (Diatonic Octave C5-C6).

A real, playable musical instrument straight off the build plate.

This model features a durable, ergonomic base and 8 calibrated tubes forming a full diatonic octave from C to C (C5–C6).

It is the perfect project for functional 3D printing enthusiasts, musical experiments, and unique gifts. 🎶💨

Key Features:

  • Precise Tuning: Each tube is pre-tuned to a specific note: DO(C5), RE(D5), MI(E5), FA(F5), SOL(G5), LA(A5), SI(B5), DO(C6). You can easily experiment with the pitch by modifying the tube height in your slicer, pouring a bit of melted wax into the bottom, or adding small pieces of clay.
  • Multi-Color Without AMS: The model is smartly organized across two plates. You can easily print the base in one color and the tubes in another—no multi-material system required.
  • No Supports Required: Both the ergonomic base and the vertical tubes are optimized to print cleanly right off the build plate without any supports.
  • Snug Fit Assembly: The tubes are engineered to slide tightly and securely into the base slots to ensure the airtight seal needed for a clear sound. If necessary, they can be further secured using glue or other DIY methods.

Recommended Print Settings:

  • Plate Layout: Plate 1 — Base, Plate 2 — Tubes.
  • Layer Height: 0.16mm - 0.20mm (0.16mm is highly recommended for smooth inner walls, which directly improves sound quality).
  • Wall Loops: 3 - 4 (crucial for structural rigidity and preventing air leaks).
  • Infill: 5% - 13% (Gyroid).
  • Supports: NO.

⚠️ Important Printing Tip:

For the best sound quality, the tubes must be completely airtight.

Make sure your printer is well-calibrated with no under-extrusion, and ensure the first layer seals the bottom of the tubes perfectly.
