Description

"The sum total of an empire's will, might, mind, and strength—placed precisely at your fingers, sir," the anxious aide offered. The terminal winked and flashed as information was constantly updated, a billion billion lines of code streaming into a single data center at once.

The Admiral did not look up from the display. "A galaxy cannot be governed by information alone, Lieutenant. Information without intent is useless. Logistics, the rigid tracking of power, a flawless overview of one’s domain; all meaningless without the sense to drive it *somewhere*."

"What do you mean, sir?"

"A true emperor knows that victories are not won on account of the information available. There's always more to gain and discover. If that were true, the Universities of Jol'Nar would have ascended the throne long ago. ...No, Lieutenant. There's one more element that must be understood."

"What is that?"

"Ruthless, cold, savage cunning."

Introducing my take on the player dashboard concept, and based on a several dozen hours of play sessions, I give you the compact Command Center for Twilight Imperium, 4th Edition.

Each set takes approximately 2 days of print time, per printer. Each set requires the following Bill of Materials

  • 6X M5 heat set inserts

  • 4X M4 heat set inserts

  • 2X M5x25 SHCS (or BHCS)

  • 4X M5x20 SHCS (or BHCS)

  • 4X M4x8 SHCS (or BHCS)

  • 2X 5mm OD x 40 springs (here's an amazon link)

  • 12X (yeesh) 10x2mm magnets

  • Three of these absolutely fantastic little print in place hinges -- smallest size, screw in or glue in (doesn't matter, you'll glue them in anyway). Be sure to give them a boost!

  • For fleets, I'm using these great organizers on Amazon. They slide under the hinged faction section.

  • CA glue (liquid kind, the gel doesn't work great on this one)

  • While not required, I highly recommend you get non-slip silicone pad on the underside of the legs. It really tacks the command center to the table really well, and gives the model a premium feel.

The pockets in the legs are meant for sand, BBs, anything to give the model a bit more weight when resting on the table. It helps keep from sliding around, and, when paired with the silicone non-slip pad, makes it much easier to pull tokens out without disturbing the command center.

Make sure your polarities are correct with the magnets so that when you close the hinge, it snaps closed. Your legs should snap together (N side face down on one leg/side, N side face up on the other).

When Bambu Studio finally begins supporting multi-nozzle projects for single nozzle printers, I'll stop complaining. The Agent placard *can* be printed with a 0.4 with acceptable results, but the Token placard cannot (read, should not). If you can get good results out of it, please let me know and I'll amend this entry.

I've determined that a subtle and pleasing color arrangement for fleets is Fleet color for text and plungers, gold for everything else. If you have a better pattern, hit me up with it in the comments!

Happy printing! Pax Magnifica Bellum Gloriosum!
