Description
About the model
This is a model of the P-51 Mustang, a World War II era escort fighter. I specifically modelled this after the “D” variant which featured a bubble canopy and was the most produced variant of the war. I included liveries of the iconic Red Tail Mustangs, and the D-Day invasion stripes, however these can be easily customized to your liking. Please ensure your printer is sufficiently maintained and proper material is used to ensure the best print possible. Glue is optional, both models from the cover photo were assembled without it. However, a small hobby knife or similar should be used during assembly. Additionally, please ensure that all support material is removed from the aircraft during assembly as excess material could decrease the effectiveness of joints. If you have any inquiries, feel free to leave a comment or DM me on makerworld. Happy Printing!
Refer to the below image for assistance with assembly. NOTE: The left wing is omitted from the image for sake of simplicity, the assembly process is the same as the process for the right wing.
NOTE 2: When testing, i found the holes on the horizontal stabilizers for the connecting rod can sometimes shrink and make it difficult to insert the connector without breaking it. If you run into this issue, take your hobby knife, put the point into the hole and carefully rotate it to expand the hole without breaking the sides of it. This should help significantly.
