This version is a compact, budget-friendly alternative. By switching to the widely available $2 PD65W modules from AliExpress and optimizing the internal layout, I’ve significantly reduced the total height of the unit, making it a much more portable solution for your tool batteries.

Assembly Instructions:

1. Terminals: Crimp male spade connectors onto 16-18 gauge wire and push them firmly into the terminal slots.
2. Secure Terminals: Use a soldering iron to gently melt and mold the surrounding plastic to lock the connectors in place. (Optional: Use superglue for extra security).
3. Wiring: Solder the positive and negative wires to your PD65W chip. Pro tip: There is enough room in the case to include an in-line 5A fuse (10a for double) if you want added protection.
4. Mounting: Stick the PD65W chip to the underside of the lid. I’ve included alignment guides to make this easy; a small piece of 3M double-sided tape is all you need.
5. Final Assembly: Screw the enclosure shut. The base includes slots if you prefer to glue in nuts for the screws, though I simply use standard screws.
