Mini Wheel Sanding Disc for Rotary Tool (20mm & 30mm)

A simple and practical mini sanding disc designed for rotary tools and DIY projects. This model is available in two sizes: 20mm and 30mm, making it suitable for detail sanding, edge finishing, polishing preparation, and working in tight spaces.

The design is optimized for use with a 2.35mm shank mandrel, which is commonly used on mini rotary tools and hobby grinders.

Required Parts

To assemble this sanding disc, you will need:

• 1x Printed sanding disc body (20mm or 30mm version)
• 1x 2.35mm shank mandrel / rotary tool arbor
• EVA foam, craft foam, or similar soft backing material (recommended 2–5 mm thickness)
• Sandpaper (recommended: self-adhesive or attached with double-sided tape)
• Super glue, contact adhesive, or double-sided tape

Why Use Foam?

Adding a thin layer of EVA foam or other soft foam between the printed disc and the sandpaper creates a cushioned backing pad. This helps:

• Improve surface conformity on curved parts
• Reduce vibration during sanding
• Prevent the sanding surface from being overly rigid
• Produce a smoother and more consistent finish

Assembly

1. Print the desired disc size.
2. Insert the 2.35mm mandrel into the center hole.
3. Secure it if necessary.
4. Cut EVA foam to match the disc diameter and attach it to the printed disc.
5. Cut sandpaper to size and attach it to the foam layer.
